septictankpretoria.co.za is an independent septic information and request service for Pretoria, Centurion and Midrand. We don't empty tanks, own trucks or issue certificates. When you send a request, we pass it on. A vetted local septic operator in your area calls you to confirm the price and a time.
What this site is
This site does two things.
First, it explains septic tanks in plain language: what a pump-out costs, how often you need one, what the council requires, and what to do when something smells wrong. Every rand figure and rule links to the page it came from, so you can check it yourself.
Second, it gives you one simple way to ask for help. You fill in a short form or phone us, and we pass your request to a vetted local septic operator in your area.
That's it. No marketplace of ten bidders, no star ratings, no invented history.
What we are not
We'd rather you know this up front:
- We're not a septic company. We don't empty, install or repair tanks or French drains.
- We don't own trucks or hold permits to cart or dispose of sewage. The operator does.
- We don't issue Certificates of Compliance. For plumbing work, PIRB says only its Licensed Plumbers can issue them.
- We don't approve installs. Your municipality does. In Pretoria and Centurion that's the City of Tshwane; for most of Midrand it's the City of Johannesburg.
- We're not a regulator or a trade body, and we're not linked to any municipality.
Any assessment, quote, contract, payment and workmanship is between you and the operator.
How a request works
- You tell us what you need. Your name, phone number, area, the type of property and the problem, with any notes that help.
- We pass it on. Your request goes to a vetted local septic operator in your area.
- The operator calls you. They confirm the price and a time with you directly. Your quote depends on tank size and access.
- You decide. There's no obligation to go ahead.
Sending a request doesn't guarantee a match, a call-back time or a price.
How this site is paid for
Running a site like this costs money, so here's how it works.
We may receive a referral fee from the operator we pass your request to. You don't pay us anything, and sending a request is free.
We tell you this because you should know who benefits when you click "submit". It doesn't change what the guides say: the prices and rules on this site come from the sources linked on each page, not from the operator.
Your details
We use your details to pass your request to an operator and to follow up on it. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how it's used, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The terms of use set out the rest.
